This is a very rare Buddhism artwork, a Northern Wei dynasty sandstone carving, circa carved in 5th century as an epitome of the Buddhism cave of that era.

It was one of the exhibition items, lot 5, in the " Exhibition of Ancient Buddhism Carving" held in 2001/May in Taicung County Harbor Art Center, Taiwan. ( Exhibition catalogue P. 24, the catalogue book will be attached, free. )

Actually, the authentic Northern Wei stone carving is not easy to find in the market, even in the museum, the second photo below is the image of a very similar stele collected by the National Palace Museum, Beijing, China; the third one, collected by the Osaka City Museum, Japan.
