The
Liangzhu Culture ( ca. 3300-2200 B.C. ), distributed around the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, had its center in modern southern Kiangsu and northern chekiang provinces, China.

This region was in fact home to the ancient Yueh Culture, known for a particularly sophisticated jade-working tradition.

A similar Liangzhu culture jade hairpin was found in an ancient tomb, 1984, and is collected by the Shanghai Museum now. ( Please see the last 3 photos, from the Shanghai Museum jade collection )
